Advocacy for educational psychology – from a specialist in work and organizational psychology

Dragoș Iliescu is Professor at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences,  University of Bucharest, where he also leads the Doctoral School. In addition to his academic career he has been active in consulting for the last 20 years, being involved or leading a number of important projects related to psychological and educational testing and evaluation, in commercial or governmental contexts, in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. His research interests are grouped around two major areas: psychology applied in an occupational context and in human capital issues and psychological and educational testing and evaluation (with a strong intercultural component). Dragoș Iliescu has served in various official capacities for a number of national and international professional associations; is the former President of the International Test Commission (ITC) and the current President of Division 2 (Psychological and Educational Assessment) of the International Association of Applied Psychology. SMAPH – a research project for studying well-being in educational settings

Laurențiu Maricuțoiu is Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at the West University of Timișoara, and President of the Romanian Association for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. His main area of research interest is occupational health and workplace well-being, where he successfully managed to publish in journals such as Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology, Applied Psychology: Health and Well-Being, or Burnout Research. His recent research outputs focused on the well-being in educational settings, where he analysed the well-being of teaching staff and the well-being of students. In his talk, Laurențiu will discuss the current shortcomings in studying occupational health issues in educational settings and will provide a comprehensive approach for dealing with these limitations.

Roxana Maier has a PhD in Psychology, is an Associate Professor PhD. at Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, psychotherapist, P.E.U. counsellor and trainer, member of the educational psychology, school and vocational counselling committee, which is part of the Romanian Psychologist Collegium. Her scientific and academic interests lie in trauma psychology, educational psychology, clinical psychology, labour and transportation psychology, the last two being showcased in her work as a supervisor. She published several books as a sole author or as a co-author, various articles in psychology Journals and multiple chapters in collective volumes across the country. Roxana Maier is a practitioner in psychology with over 13 years of experience in psychotherapy.

The pandemic of fake news and mental health burden of Covid-19

Dr. Vasile Doru Marineanu is a clinical psychologist working for Romanian Ministry of National Defence and Adjunct Professor at the University of Bucharest. Currently, Dr. Marineanu is the Head of the Romanian National Military Centre for Psychology and Behavioural Health, the President of the Romanian Society for Military Psychology, and member in the Board of the Romanian College of Psychologists. In 2019 he was elected as national representative of the Romanian College of Psychologists to the Standing Committee on Disaster, Crisis and Trauma Psychology within the European Federation of Psychologists’ Associations. Dr. Marineanu is a licensed practitioner with over 20 years of experience in clinical and operational psychology. He conducted intensive international activities in mental health operational focused activities during five NATO deployments, as field psychologist, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Afghanistan. During these deployments he, also, coordinated major educational programs for local communities, as commander of Information Operations and Psychological Operations, in support of human rights, gender equality, hostage situations, armed robberies, and sexual violence victims. His scientific research includes publications and projects, such as: The Role of the Romanian Military Psychologists in Providing First Line Responders with Adaptive Behaviours and Mental Health Strategies in the Era of Covid-19 (2020), Resilience and Clinical Issues in Survival Behaviour under Isolation and Captivity (2019), The Psychology of Suicide Martyrdom in Afghanistan and its Implications for Psychological Operations (2017), Supervised practice in evidence-based clinical psychology (2017), Crises Intervention and Psychological First Aid (2016) etc.

Georgeta Pânișoară is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences, University of Bucharest. He was also the Chief Technology Officer of MUST-B2B, Paris, France (Till December 2020) along with associated senior researcher activities and  at INRIA, Paris, where he is developing of Deep hybrid learning based recommendation and unsupervised machine learning for business Eco-system and communication systems.  He is having several projects and product implementation on   private Blockchain, e-SIM and smart manufacturing & logistics.

Prior to that he was senior Associate Professor, Computer Sc.& Engg., Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, India, Vising research professor at CNRS–INSA de Lyon, Lyon, France (2016), Invited Research professor at TU-Ostrava, Cz Republic respectively (2015). Daniela Roman is an Associate Professor PhD at the Faculty of Socio-Humanistic Sciences, Department of Psychology, University of Oradea. She obtained her doctorate in Psychology at “Babeș-Bolyai” University in Cluj-Napoca in 2010. She is a lead psychologist with the right to free practice in educational psychology, school and vocational counseling, as well as a supervisor in the field, accredited by the Romanian College of Psychologists. She is a psychotherapist trained in NILD educational therapy – techniques and methods in the education of children with learning problems. She is currently the president of the National Association of School Psychologists. She has participated at numerous national, international conferences and grants, holds workshops and training programs. Her research interests are directed towards academic learning, educational psychology and family psychology, reflected by volumes and numerous studies published in journals with national and international impact.
